Who We Are

  • Overview

OneSwirl is an identity portal - a centralized location for everything related to you and your identity. This includes an online business card, contact methods, lifestream aggregation, and more!

Features

  • OneCard

If you provide optional personal data, then you can take advantage of our online businesscard - OneCard. It's displayed on your public page, but can also be used across the Internet to make contacting you (by any method) easier!
  • "Leave a Message"

Instead of requiring users to signup just to leave you a message, or creating yet another place to check private messages, visitors to your public page can send you a message, directly, either through email or Jabber/XMPP... all without leaving the page!
  • Lifestream Aggregation

By providing your usernames to other Internet services, OneSwirl can track your activities across the digital world, and leave them all in one easy-to-access location!

Trivia

  • Launch Dates

  • v0.5, the first public release, launched on 2/29/2008
  • v0.6 launched on 3/17/2008
  • Incubation Period

  • OneSwirl was conceived and launched in a period of 3 very short, and busy, weeks.
  • Future Plans

  • We have a fully detailed roadmap created of where we're going, and how we're getting there. But it's secret for now.
  • Versioning

  • Rather than releasing features as we develop them, we're going to release things as a package. Bug fixes will still be as-soon-as-fixed, but features will be planned. At the moment, there are plans for v0.7, v0.8, and v0.9.
